Mechanical Engineer

Essentials

  • A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on mechanical systems;
  • A few years of experience in design, engineering and specifying mechanical systems;
  • Hands-on experience in assembly and testing of mechanical systems;
  • Experience working with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks);
  • Workplace is at our office in Veldhoven, the Netherlands;
  • Reporting to the Chief Product Officer (CPO)

Our innovative nanoimprint equipment and consumables enable micro- and nanostructures to be applied on extremely large areas in high volume production. This leads to improved products with cost advantages for our customers in the display, automotive, and other deep technology sectors. Morphotonics is located in the Brainport Region of Eindhoven in The Netherlands. Our R2P nanoimprint technology has been adopted by leading customers in Europe, United States and Asia.

Your role

With multiple OEM systems sold, Morphotonics is now looking for a Mechanical Engineer to further grow our R2P technology into the next generation of equipment. As our Mechanical Engineer, you will take responsibility for engineering and design specifications, for the sub-contracting of modules, for having our equipment tested and improved and for controlling the TPD. You will be working in a multidisciplinary team (incl. software and process specialists). Details of your role include:

  • Setting-up system specifications and design constraints;
  • Concept design;
  • Testing of concepts;
  • Manage output and quality at sub-contractors;
  • Construction of prototypes;
  • Systems testing and release;
  • TPD management and control
  • Making and adjusting mechanical designs using CAD software

Experience

  • A few years of experience in design, engineering and specifying mechanical systems;
  • Experience with sub-contracting of key components of complex mechanical systems;
  • Hands-on experience in assembly and testing of mechatronic systems;
  • Experience working with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks);
  • Affinity with process technology, fluid handling systems, pneumatics, electronics, PLC systems and communications interfaces;
  • Structured way of working and Project-based working skills to complete complex projects successfully;

Required educational background

  • A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on mechanical systems;
