The flex stamp is critical in the imprinting process. It contains the structure and is therefore essential for the quality of your product. By using only one reusable stamp in the R2P equipment, the quality of the imprinted products can be controlled. Each product is made with the same stamp and potential defects or damage to the stamp can already be detected in the first product.

The reusability of the flexible nanoimprint stamp ensures a cost effective and sustainable process. The cost of the stamp can be divided over the number of products made from this one stamp. Furthermore, due to the reusability we can add features and properties to the stamp that would not be possible or cost effective if the stamp would only be used a few times. This is the reason why our stamps can, for example, have alignment markers, edge control lines and a tunable surface tension.

 

 

What is a flex stamp?

A flex stamp (sometimes called soft mold, master film or template) is a flexible polymer sheet which has the inverse of the desired structure on its surface. The size of the flex stamp is usually slightly larger than the substrates that are imprinted with this stamp. Therefore, the size of the stamp is limited; it is not a long rolled up film. The limited size makes it easy to handle, transport and to exchange in our machines.

The nanoimprint stamps are flexible to conform to the surface of the substrates and transparent to UV to enable curing through the stamp. Our stamps are treated to have no adhesion to the imprint lacquer, ensuring good seperation after curing and a high reusability factor of the stamp.
